School Visits, Lectures and Workshops with Phoebe Stone

Phoebe Stone is happy to visit and talk to your school or organization. A teacher herself of art and illustration on the college level, Phoebe is a versatile speaker and comfortable with a wide range of age-groups and situations.

Phoebe has given presentations to libraries, elementary schools, high school creative writing classes, adult groups of teachers and mixed groups of children and adults at parent/teacher sponsored events. A sampling of organizations she has made presentations to include: The Vermont NEA, The DeCordova Museum, The University of Vermont Symposium with Authors and Illustrators of Children's Books, and countless schools and libraries.

Phoebe has an instant rapport with children. Attracted by her energy and her ability to interact with them as equals -- children enthusiastically join in with her readings and bookmaking projects.

A slide talk to an older age group might explore the creative process and the work involved in writing and illustrating children's books. Deceptively simple, a children's book can often take years to complete and publish.

Rates for workshops and lectures depend on the size of the group, the number of presentations involved and travel expenses. Phoebe does her best to fit as many requests as possible into her busy schedule.
